Pony's need special people to put their saddles on so they fit properly.
Special people need to put horses shoes on. They are called Farriers.
There are lots of different types of ponies and horses

You measure horses and ponies by hand. If a horse is bigger than 14.2 hands then it is a horse if it is smaller then it is a pony.
Horses and ponies sometimes have socks or stockings. It is a sock if the colouring comes just above the ankle and a stocking if it comes above the knee.
You can dress up your horse for shows or just for fun. Here are some different ways.
- You can put bows on its tail and in its mane.
- You can plait their main and tail.
- You can decorate the reigns and saddle.
- You can paint on hoof oil to make the hoofs shine and then add sequins.
Horses have four paces
1)walk
2)trot
3)canter
4)gallop (that's really, fast)
Learning to trot on a pony is pretty tricky
and takes time to learn. You have to go up and down in the saddle
as the pony trots. but you have to keep your hands and legs still. They
dont go up and down-only your bottom does!
You should only canter when you are sure you are balanced (That means you don't slip from side to side in the saddle).
